Genetic diseases, skin tumours and psychogenic dermatoses
Genodermatoses, skin tumours, cytological diagnosis and psychogenic diseases.
- Genetics
- Oncology
- Cytology
This course consists of three distinct parts. The first part is devoted to a group of dermatological diseases of great importance, whose number continues to grow — diseases of genetic origin. Advances in molecular methods have made it possible to identify the genetic defect underlying many common hereditary skin diseases, such as ichthyosis, paw pad hyperkeratosis and others.
The second part of the course is devoted to the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of the main skin tumours. One full day is devoted to the cytological diagnosis of common types of skin nodules and tumours.
The third part examines the aetiopathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases caused by behavioural disorders in both dogs and cats.
